This album is dedicated to the idea that everything around us is magical, while also being oh-so common. A celebration of the magic we can find in the grand and mundane. When I embrace this thought, I remember that my greatest joy is in hearing and noticing everyone and everything, and listening to all the stories, large and small.

This is my third all-ages album of music, featuring a mix of reimagined folk and children’s songs from East and Southeast Asia, and original songs inspired by the artwork of my friend Kristiana Pärn. Like past albums, Nothing Is Ordinary is driven by collaboration & friendship. You’ll hear a mix of sound worlds, ranging from call and response community folk songs to dreamy soundscapes to traditional instrumental sounds like Indonesian gamelan, sanshin, or the gayageum.
